Geotechnical Staff Engineer


General Responsibilities:
Welcome to American GeoServices. We’re redefining geotechnical and geological consulting.

Our Geotechnical Staff Engineer will work with a variety of clients and projects in Colorado, Oregon, and Washington to provide an candid engineering and consulting experience. Duties include performing field investigations, calculations and engineering analysis, creation/design of plans and specifications, observation and inspection of sites, and the writing/development of reports for services provided. A strong knowledge of drawings and construction is required to ensure specifications and plans are complied with accuracy and safety. Researching and resolving design and construction problems will be necessary. In addition, one will track and evaluate project progress, while simultaneously working with new clients on proposals and cost estimates. Services may include projects within residential, commercial, energy, industrial, and public works.

At American GeoServices, we value communication and professionalism across the board. This often means translating complex engineering issues and concepts to clients that may or may not have experience with such terms.

Essential Role and Responsibilities:
  • Supervising field staff and maintaining a responsible aura of safety across all project sites.
  • Pre-task planning and excellent knowledge of safety regulation requirements.
  • Performing engineering calculations while analyzing data from various sources.
  • Maintaining the American GeoServices standard of professionalism across the project landscape.
  • Regular communication of service progress to clients, including detailed accounts of the phases of assigned project work.
  • Preparing proposals, documents, design recommendations, modifications, and adaptations for Senior level approval.
  • Works under the supervision of a registered Professional Engineer.

Requirements:
  • Minimum 2 years experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Master’s degree in Engineering preferred, with emphasis on Geotechnical Engineering.
  • Engineer-in-Training preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD and geotechnical engineering software.

Engineering Manager

Our Engineering Manager will work on a variety of day-to-day business and engineering management related tasks in Colorado, Oregon, Florida, and Washington to provide a rewarding engineering and consulting experience. Our Engineering Manager will be responsible for all aspects of engineering consulting business administration, development, and specifically, engineering project management. The primary task involves establishing and implementing project management processes for our engineering team to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and adhere to high quality standards and meets customer expectations. A strong knowledge of business management and administration is also required to ensure our projects stay on a set timeline. In addition, one will track and evaluate project progress, while simultaneously adding in and managing incoming projects.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Geotechnical engineering in addition to MBA or Business Administration, or other related field.
  • Minimum two (2) years Project Management experience.
  • Minimum three (3) years Engineering work experience, PE preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history.


Business Secretary

Our Business Secretary will work on a variety of day-to-day business related tasks in Colorado, Oregon, Florida, and Washington to provide a rewarding engineering and consulting experience. Duties include book-keeping, filing, employee management, resource management, office communications, and basic accounting/business administration.  Working closely with the Principal Engineers in providing computer support, typing, note-taking, business chores, report processing, and daily administrative assistance will be necessary.

Requirements:
  • Secretary, Accounting, Business Administration experience

AutoCAD Drafter

Our AutoCAD Drafter work on a variety of projects in Colorado, Oregon, and Washington to provide a candid engineering and consulting experience. Duties include developing, maintaining and updating new and existing specification drawings, supporting the Engineering Team, and providing maintenance of specifications on CAD files. A strong knowledge of engineering drawings and construction is required to ensure specifications and plans are complied with accuracy and safety. Researching and resolving design and construction problems will be necessary. Example geological design services may include projects within residential, commercial, energy, industrial, and public works.

Requirements:
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD LT or AutoCAD 2017
  • Associate degree in drafting, engineering, or any technical area with drafting knowledge
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history.



Accounting/Business Manager

Our Accountant/Business Manager will work on a variety of day-to-day business and accounting related tasks in Colorado, Oregon, Florida, and Washington to provide a rewarding engineering and consulting experience. Duties include day-to-day responsibility for planning, implementing, managing and controlling all accounting and financial-related and business-related activities of the organization. This will include direct responsibility for accounting, finances, business administration, management, and business development.

Essential Role and Responsibilities:
  • Direct and oversee all aspects of the Finance. Accounting, and Management functions of the organization.
  • Support bi-weekly payroll, including: new hire paperwork, proper payroll deductions, wage tracking, etc.
  • Work with management to ensure best practices, proper ethical and legal concerns are considered with employee relations.
  • Maintaining the American GeoServices standard of professionalism across the project landscape.
  • Works under the supervision of a registered Professional Engineer.

Requirements:
  • Bookkeeping, Accounting, Business Administration, and Management experience
  • BS in Accounting or Finance required, MBA preferred
